The Lessons
Lesson #1:
Sequential Development
The first lesson in the series will introduce the concept of sequential development. This is a really important concept for understanding behaviour, including understanding how moments of over-activation of stress can impact development.
Lesson #2:
Activation of the Stress Response
This series will work through the concept of Neuroception and how the detection of a stressor can activate the Red Brain into survival mode. It explains the impact it can have on the way our brain and body can function, before and after activation. It includes the story of losing my keys.
Lesson #3:
Understanding Over-Sensitisation
When we activate the body repeatedly, we can create a space where the stress response is sensitised, and this can increase the likelihood of activation in the future. This lesson explains the stress response system sensitisation in terms of sprinting and marathon running to help us understand why some people might activate from 0-100 in milliseconds.
